The Hunter region of New South Wales has a long tradition of brass music and 2NURFM is the only local radio station that features brass music.'

During his 47 years in banding, Geoff McGregor has amassed a lifetime of knowledge and for 36 years has been sharing that knowledge with listeners to Brass Encounters.

Geoff has been the recipient of several major awards for service to the Community through Brass Banding including Lake Macquarie Citizen of the Year in 2005.  He is a State and National Champion for both playing and marching and is a well known Tenor Horn player in this region and further afield.
