Sangeetalahari (South Indian Carnatic music) with Kameswara Rao Ayyalaraju.

Sangeetalahari presents Carnatic music recitals, accompanied by English commentary.

Carnatic music is classical music from the south Indian regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala and derives its name from a belief that it is a musical form which is pleasing to the ear.

Besides the all-important and versatile role that vocals play, the main instruments are nadaswaram (double reed wind instrument), veena (large stringed instrument), mridangam (percussive instrument) and violin. In more recent times various artists have also introduced western instruments such as the saxophone, guitar and clarinet.

Sangeetalahari wishes you a pleasant and relaxing experience.
